African Organisation of English-speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E) is currently conducting a Training of Trainers (ToT) Workshop on the Financial Audit and the Compliance Audit manuals. The training, taking place at the Sarova Panafric Hotel, Nairobi targets the East Africa Sub-regional Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs).
The revised documents were launched as the Official AFROSAI-E Regulatory Audit manuals during the 2021 Technical Update Conference.
The Workshop aims at achieving a smooth implementation of the two manuals by ensuring that auditors in their respective SAIs work seamlessly when conducting audits.
The Auditor-General CPA Nancy Gathungu CBS, emphasized on the importance of SAIS embracing different tools that build all rounded auditors who will look beyond the figures.
“We must learn to audit differently. We must learn to go deeper into what figures mean in terms of service delivery. We must ensure that we assist citizens to get the best from the service providers, as a result of our audit recommendations,’’ the Auditor-General said.
She further encouraged other SAIs to continue promoting knowledge sharing, help their staff in building resilience and seeking meaningful ways of conducting audits.
